Engaging Fathers: Enhancing Family Connections (KTF-EF-032524)

Description
Engaging Fathers: Enhancing Family Connections is a three-hour training centered around the engagement of the non-custodial parent and their families. Participants will discuss the importance of engaging with all fathers (alleged, established, fictive) and their immediate and extended family networks. Trainees will examine strategies for how to work with partners to achieve initial engagement with fathers and what ongoing engagement could lead to beyond the service episode.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
This training explores how to enhance family connections by engaging with fathers and the paternal side of the youth’s family.

By the end of this training, learners will be able to:

(1) Recognize the current limitations of child welfare engagement with the broader paternal family network
(2) Acknowledge the importance of searching for and engaging with fathers and the paternal side of the family
(3) Describe additional engagement identification strategies for legal, social, and alleged fathers and their families

This is an instructor-led course. Going through the units will lead you to register for the live training event session, which is hosted on Microsoft Teams.
